Servo Synchronization

Electronic gearing, electronic camming and registration-mark synchronization.

Servo Synchronization

Servo synchronization is the difference between a machine that runs at rated speed and one that has to be slowed down to "stop the print drifting". We build electronic gearing, camming and phase-locked registration so the machine holds spec at nameplate throughput.

Phase-lock to registration marks is implemented at controller level, not bolted on, so it tolerates real-world print fade, film stretch and slow drift in the supply rolls.

For multi-station machines we design phase relationships across stations (e.g. seal-jaw to film, knife to product) and verify them with master-slave traces during commissioning.

Servo Synchronization

Capabilities included

  • Electronic gearing (master / slave) per axis
  • Electronic camming with editable cam tables
  • Phase-locked registration on printed films
  • Master encoder selection (real / virtual)
  • Documented phase relationships between stations

How we engage

We work as an extension of your engineering team — from initial scoping through commissioning, training and post-handover support.

Every deliverable ships with documented source code, electrical drawings and an operator/maintenance manual so your team owns the machine, not the integrator.

01

Phase map

All synchronized axes and their masters mapped.

02

Cam / gear setup

Gear ratios and cam tables built per format.

03

Registration lock

Sensor placement and filter tuning for the print mark.

04

Validation

Master-slave traces archived at full line speed.

Print on target

Registration drift caught and corrected continuously.

Full speed

No need to detune the line to keep spec.

Documented

Phase maps and tables saved with the project.

Repeatable

Same behaviour across SKUs and machines.

What we offer

  • Electronic gearing (master / slave) per axis
  • Electronic camming with editable cam tables
  • Phase-locked registration on printed films
  • Master encoder selection (real / virtual)
  • Documented phase relationships between stations
